I was reminded last night that God loves me (too).
No, I hadn’t forgotten the truth of that statement…
But the reality is that I (we) spend so much of our daily work sharing this message with students, and trying to help them understand what it means for the lives, but rarely hear those same words spoken to us…
Reminding us…
That God loves us too.
Just as we are.
Despite how we’re feeling at year’s end.
Regardless of the kind of year that it’s been.
No matter how “successful” we feel at this moment…
I needed to hear that last night.
I needed to hear that from somebody else.
I (we) so regularly utter these same sentiments to the students we serve… but likely, rarely hear them spoken to us.
So I wanted to share this with you:
God loves you.
You delight Him.
He is proud of the work that you do.
He knows how you’re feeling as this year comes to an end.
He really does love you (and me too).
So be encouraged my fellow servant in Christ!
And as your (academic) year with students comes to an end, I hope you’ll take the time to sit with the truth of this reality… long enough for it to sink down deep into your soul.
