It seems both simple and obvious, but while you’re out and about on campus — remember to smile.
As I’ve walked around on this first day of class, I’ve been surprised by how many people I’ve got off-guard with something as simple as a smile.
It may be that they’re new to campus — and feeling a bit overwhelmed or lonely.
It may be that they’re returning to campus — and aren’t feeling all too ready to start another academic year.
It may just be that they’ve grown accustomed to a less hopeful way of viewing life.
But if the love of Christ compels us to serve the students on our campus this year, then the joy of the Lord should radiate from our souls — through our faces — into the rest of campus.
Just a thought — as we launch out into a new year of ministry with students.
