Happy New Year!
If you’re new to Faith ON Campus, WELCOME!
If you’ve visited Faith ON Campus prior to the start of the new calendar year, and have stopped back in these first few days of 2011, you may have noticed some changes to this site.
I’m still fairly new to all of this website stuff… so I’m continually looking for ways to make this site more user-friendly… which is hopefully what I’ve done with these changes.
If that’s not the case, please let me know.
And if there are other ways you think I could improve this site please don’t hesitate to offer your suggestions. Seriously!
SO, with that, lets get to the changes.
- The ARCHIVES — The biggest change, by far, is the creation of a categorical archive. I’ve done this in order to assist readers with finding meaningful content in the area they are most interested in. There are a couple of different ways you can access the archives: 1) click on the archive button at the top of any page. This will take you to the main archive page which will have a list of the categories that house the archives. Click on whichever category you desire to see and the link will take you to that subset of the archives. 2) You can also hover over the archives button at the top of any page and it should give you a drop down window with all of the categories. Again, just click on the category you desire to see and you will be taken to that subset of the archives. 3) Finally, at the bottom of every page you will find all of the categories listed under the ‘Archive’ title. Again, click on the category you desire to see and you will be taken to a page with all of the posts in that category listed. All of the archives will be listed in reverse chronological order — meaning the most recent posts will be found at the top of each page.
- 10 Categories — Related to the new archives, I have trimmed down my list of categories. I previously had more than 40 categories that I was using to identify my posts. Now I’ve got 10. I’m hoping that this will better assist readers in finding the resources that you desire, while it also help to focus my writing.
- Campus Ministry Bloggers Page — I’ve added a few more blogs to the list of college ministry bloggers on this page. If you’re looking for others who are blogging about our work with college students you may want to check some of these folks out. If you know of others that should be added to this list please be in touch.
- Cool New Color — Finally, the change that is probably the least important — but most obvious, is the change in color. A subtle change from blue to grey, but I didn’t want you to think your eyes were playing tricks on you. I kind of like it. You’ll have to let me know what you think.
So that’s what’s new at Faith ON Campus. I hope that this site will continue to serve all who stop by. Again, if there’s anything that you think I should add that would make it a better resource for you, please let me know!
Thanks!
What’s new with you?
