Announcing the 3rd Annual Sex & the Soul Blogathon | Feb. 26-28

Preparation for the next blogathon is now underway!

As you very well know, today’s college students are more wounded than ever. They’ve been exposed to, or personally experienced, a lot of pain and hurt in relation to sex, issues of sexuality, and their intersection with the Christian faith.

And what they need most are women and men who are willing to “get dirty” with them in order to understand the depths of their hurts.

They need someone like you and like me to come alongside them — suspending judgment — and journey with them towards healing, reconciliation, and redemption.

The 3rd Annual Sex & the Soul Blogathon will be a chance for us to think and talk together about the varying issues relating to sex, sexuality, and faith –- and how we can best come alongside college students as they struggle to live through these issues during their formative college years.

Over the course of this three-day event [February 26-28, 2013] we’ll have the chance to hear from a number of professionals in the college and campus ministry world – as well as others who have a particular interest and/or insight into our work with college students -– in the form blog posts –- and the dialogs that ensue.

Topics could include, but are not limited to, things like:

  • Sex before marriage
  • Sexual abuse
  • Rape
  • Sexual addiction
  • Porn
  • Gender confusion
  • Experimentation
  • Living a faithful life as a LGBT student
  • Future consequences for present actions
  • Sex in the media
  • Saving yourself for marriage
  • Preparing for marriage
  • How far’s too far?
  • And anything else you think might be relevant to this conversation.

What I’m looking for right now are proposals — from people like you!

Is there a topic you are passionate about? An area you’ve done some research in? Something you’d be willing to contribute in the form of a blog post that is 300-1000 words in length that can serve as a launch pad for conversations that will help to bring more shape and definition to our work with college students in this area?

If so, I’d like you to send me a brief description of what you would like to contribute.

I will begin accepting proposals immediately (at guy.chmieleski[at]gmail.com), and hope to solidify our list of contributors by Feb. 13th.

Posts would then be due by Feb. 20th.

Show can your support and be one of the first to RSVP at the Sex & the Soul Blogathon Facebook event page! If you have any questions about this upcoming blogathon please be in touch!

I look forward to engaging with you in the important issues and conversations surrounding sex, sexuality and faith during this upcoming online conference!
