Happy New Year!
I hope this finds you well… and excited about a new year of ministry with college students!
I don’t know about you, but I’m dreaming BIG about this new year…
You might call them resolutions, or goals, or plans, or something else… but I prefer to think of them as dreams…
Listening and looking for where God is at work… in me, in my family and on campus.
Based on what I’m seeing… and hearing… so far, here are a few dreams I have for the New Year:
- More time with God. Seems simple enough.
- More time with my family. This means finding more ways to unplug and ‘be present’. A couple of related posts on this are: The Problem With Being Present [With My Family] by Nate Foster and Choosing To Cheat.
- More time with students. I’m going to try to spend 50% of my time in ‘3rd places’ where students are hanging out and less time in my office. This sounds like a “no-brainer,” but can be much more challenging than you might think.
- A little more time for me. I’d like to do some more writing. I’d like to get back into shape. I’d like to get more sleep.
Seems like a pretty straight forward list… BUT, I think there are some pretty BIG dreams in there!
What makes your list of ‘BIG dreams’ for the New Year?
