Sex, Sexuality & Wounded Souls || A Call for Papers

It’s time!

The Sex & the Soul blogathon is now less than 2 months away and it’s time to start pulling together the content for this important online conference.

Today’s college students are more wounded than ever.  Having been exposed to, or personally experienced, a lot of pain and hurt in relation to sex, issues of sexuality and the Christian faith… and they need women and men who are willing to “get dirty” with them in order to understand the depths of their hurts — and journey with them towards healing, reconciliation and redemption.

This online conference is a chance for people from all over the world to come together (online) for a few days of focused reflection, and virtual dialog, about how we can best serve college students who are dealing with these prevalent issues.

Topics could include, but are not limited to, things like:

  • Sex before marriage
  • Sexual abuse
  • Rape
  • Sexual addiction
  • Porn
  • Gender confusion
  • Experimentation
  • Living a faithful life as a GLBT student
  • Future consequences for present actions
  • Sex in the media
  • Saving yourself for marriage
  • Preparing for marriage
  • How far’s too far?

And I could go on and on…

What I’m looking for right now are proposals — FROM YOU!

Is there a topic you are passionate about?  Something you’ve done some research on?  Something you’d be willing to contribute in the form of a blog post that is 300-1000 words in length that can serve as a launch pad for conversations that will help to bring more shape and definition to our work with college students in this area?

If so, I’d like you to send me a brief description of what you would like to contribute.

I will be accepting proposals until Dec. 15th.

Final versions of your post will be due by Jan. 1st.

The Sex & the Soul blogathon will be held January 11-13.

If you have any questions, or are ready to submit your proposal, please email me at guy(dot)chmieleski@gmail(dot)com.
