The Top 25 Posts of 2011 [11-15]

We’ve cracked the top 15!

And as we continue to countdown the Top 25 Posts of 2011 at Faith ON Campus… I am reminded that there are SO many great people — on campuses all over the world — doing SO much good, Kingdom work!

I am humbled… and count myself blessed to call you a colleague, and friend, in Christ!

Thanks for all you do… in the lives of your students… and to enrich the field of campus ministry!

Today’s post highlights posts 11-15 on the list of Top 25 of 2011.

Remember that it’s never too late to jump into any conversation… even if the last comment was made months ago. That’s one of the great things about conversations that take place in the blogosphere… they can be visited, and re-visited, at any point in time.

15. Bad Leaders Blame Others

Bad leaders blame others.

It’s sad, but true.

Many leaders out there tend to believe that if something has gone wrong (ie. – a failed ministry initiative, a wayward team member, a floundering layperson, a busted ministry experience, etc.) that it MUST be someone else’s fault. Read more…

14. A Student’s Insights Into Approaching LGBT Students | Bob Henry

Over the past couple of months, I have been presented with an over abundance of questions regarding the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) community and lifestyle. Over the course of the last 100-150 years the Good News about Jesus has been… Read more…

11. The First Year Out: Helping College Students Transition | Derek Melleby

“We have a choice. We can minister in the world we wish we had. Or, we can minister in the world we do have.” Those words have stuck with me from a conference I attended many years ago. The speaker was talking about the church and was challenging church leaders to examine more closely the changes in the world around us and the actual lives of the members of our congregations. Simply put, according to the speaker, the church was doing ministry in a world that no longer existed. Read more…
